NEWSLETTER – Summer 2021

15 March 2021

Summer is getting to its end, the cosmos are in full bloom and the swallows have started congregating on the telephone wires before their big trek back to the Northern Hemisphere. The farm is beautiful and green after all the rain.

It has been a very wet summer indeed, and the farm has been flooded more than once this year.

As the saying goes, let’s make hay while the sun shines!

So the tractors are out and cutting, raking and baling flat out! Even the old John Deere is doing its share!

Sadly we lost Bahia to milk fever in January – she never recovered and went to cow heaven.

But we also welcomed three new Jersey girls, Bella, Samba and Etoile. We fetched them on a farm outside Bronkhorstspruit. It was a long trip back but they travelled so well and have now settled in with the herd.

With all the rain, we had to close our farm venue, La Fromagerie, a few times as our driveway was more like a rally track than a road!

But all is back to normal and we are ready for the long weekends ahead of us. Remember that we also cater for small functions like birthdays, family gathering, baby showers, kitchen teas and even small country weddings.

We are very excited to be delivering some of our Artisan cheeses to Wild Peacock Products in the Western Cape on a regular basis now. Lookout for our Caledon, Rouge and soon the Drunk Bishop.

For those of you who cannot get our products locally, you can always order online from our online shop on the website.
