The first full moon in September is known as the Spring Moon. In agriculture, this period traditionally marks the time for ploughing, preparing gardens, and sowing crops. It’s when the first shoots of green grass start to appear, cattle grow healthier, and there’s a sense of abundance and the promise of summer on the horizon.

From September’s snowfall to veld fires that turned everyone into firefighters, this season has been full of contrasts. We’ve witnessed the joy of newborn animals, the peaceful beauty of our farm, and the striking September spring moon.

Cosmos, family of the Mexican aster, are beautiful summer flowering annuals making an appearance over the easter holidays.

Best friends forever, are donkey-Chouquette and Madeline…
